Submitting your Out of Class Portfolio

Your Out of Class Portfolio project should be completely submitted by September 30 at 6:00 AM. Everything you submit for grading should be put in your shared Google Drive folder.

Your Out of Class Portfolio folder has four folders, one for each lesson. Inside each lesson's folder should be the lesson cover page, the lesson plan and any ancillary materials for the lesson. Remember to hyper-link to any resources that are mentioned in your lessons. Also, anything that you produce that is posted online somewhere other than your Google Drive (like a blog or wiki) should be linked in your lessons.

Don't forget to include:
* All the standards covered in each lesson, including the Technology Standards!
* Anytime your lesson mentions that a student creates something (ANYTHING) you should include a model of the work.
* If your lesson mentions a handout, worksheet, graphic organizer, rubric, etc. this should be included in the lesson folder - or be linked in the lesson plan.
* If an online tool such as a blog is password protected, include the password in your lesson, so that it can be viewed for grading.
* If you want to include an online activity result that can't be easily shared or saved, you can take a picture of the screen using print-screen (see the Wordle post).

Sharing Your Materials

Sharing files from your Google Drive

• If you are sharing the file as a link on your blog or in a lesson you will want to choose the visibility to be "Anyone with the link."
• Copy the link of a file, folder, or Google Doc to create a link on your blog.

Manually upload files and folders to Google Drive

• You can create files for your Out of Class Portfolio using programs such as Microsoft Word, but make sure to upload those to the Lesson folders on your Google Drive and share the same way.

Tips for sharing online resources:

• Create links in your lesson to all the online resources you use.
• If you are creating a resource, such as a blog, that requires a password to access you can either provide Debbie and Donna with a password or screenshot the resource and include the image in your lesson plan or another file. 

Final Blog Post!

Your final blog post should be a summary of your In-Class portfolio with hyperlinks.

Submitting Final Proposal

What we learned!

At this point your mind and blogs are full of all the new technology you learned! So lets finish out the week by "filling in" the last column of our KWL that we started at the beginning of the week. What did you learn?
I am introducing you to one more new technology to do this...Padlet! 

Padlet is an Internet application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. It works like an online sheet of paper where people can put any content (e.g. images, videos, documents, text) anywhere on the page, together with anyone, from any device.

I have setup a Padlet wall for our class: Thoughts on Technolgy. You will post one thing to the wall about what you learned. You can include pictures, video or website links. 

1. Open the Padlet wall Thoughts on Technolgy (you will need a password, it is the same as the lab computer login).
2. Click the key icon on the right side. Log-in with your Google/Gmail account. (click "Grant Access")
3. Double-click anywhere on the wall to add a new post.
4. At the bottom of the post, there are options to add a link, upload a file, or picture.

Out of Class Portfolio Proposal - DUE FRIDAY!

On Friday each of you will have a conference with Donna and Debbie to discuss your plan for the Out of Class Portfolio project (four lessons). Come prepared with the proposal form completed. If you have any questions or need to fill in some blanks you will be able to discuss and revise the proposal.
