- Browse through the Phonological Awareness and Phonics activities listed under day two resources.
- Go to Massachusetts ELA Frameworks and find a standard that you feel supplemental rehearsal might be beneficial. (Under resources for Day 1)
- Once you have chosen the standard, choose a highly effective interactive game that will achieve your goal.
- Determine what you would use to assess student engagement and mastery. (You can be creative with this.).
- Comment on this post with the game you chose and what standard it matches. Write a couple sentances explaining the form assessment you would use.

Assessment: Index cards with 3 letters written on them (color coded by difficulty), students pick one card and find corresponding letter sticker in provided basket and apply sticker to index card. Students place assessment in teacher mailbox.

At the end of the game you click on the print button and a worksheet comes up that reinforces the lesson taught. You have to trace the short o word, write the word and make up a short sentence with the short o. These could be printed and next to the computer.

ReplyDeleteStudents are given a visual and a word is read aloud. Students have to choose from the letters provided to spell the word given. Each word correct gives students a "piece of the prize puzzle" and at the end they are given the option to print a Super Job! Coloring page.

Sound Match Game
ReplyDeleteWe chose the game Clifford the Bid Red Dog Sound Match. Students will match up a picture with another picture with the same initial sound. The assessment would be the students printing out the list of words they created and then underlining or highlighting the initial letter.
